Monday, Agust 3 2009 – Marantz America this week announced the launch of four new Blu-ray Disc players, all of which feature Profile 2.0.

The « ultimate quality » UD9004, which can play « any 12cm digital audio or digital video disc ever created » according to the company, also boasts 36-bit Deep Color. It also boasts several features making it of interest to home theater users, including a Vertical Stretch feature. It will arrive in August at an MSRP of $5,999.99.

The company’s « high-end universal » UD8004, which boasts many of the same features, arrives in October at an MSRP of $2,199.99. The two other players in the line, the BD7004 and BD5004, are available now at $799.99 and $549.99, respectively.

“Marantz engineered every detail of our new Blu-ray players with both audio and video purists in mind, » the company’s vice president of marketing and product development, Kevin Zarow, said as part of the announcement. « Whether a customer is looking to add to an existing Marantz home theater system or just looking for an ultimate-quality single-source component, Marantz now offers best-in-class performance at several price levels.
