Day 2 (Sep. 20th):
I arrived at Angie’s Audio Corner, 12261 Yonge Street, in the morning and had some time to have a look at several of the systems on display, before the balance of guests arrived.

In the ground floor main room was a stunning display of Estelon Forza loudspeakers, paired with a choice of Audio Research monoblock or Boulder stereo amplifiers.

Tucked in the corner, on reserve were a pair of Avantgarde Acoustic Duo SD horn loudspeakers.

The system was wired with Transparent Audio cabling.

Though not a focus of the event, I couldn’t help but notice the latest Audio Research products on display, including (clockwise from 1:00 o’clock): LS-2 Preamplifier, D-80 Power Amplifier, S-200 Power Amplifier, S-100 Power Amplifier and finally the LS-3 Preamplifier, in 10:00 o’clock position.

Making my way upstairs, I found a system featuring the Accordo Essence loudspeakers, from Franco Serblin. These speakers are truly works of art, with absolutely gorgeous wood finish and elegant drills.

The system included components by T+A, VAC, and Boulder.

Just sitting behind, to the inside of the Accordo Essence, are the Rethm, Maarga loudspeakers that use high sensitivity wide-band drivers and Hypex amplifier modules.

Right to the back, a pair of T+A bookshelf speakers, dressed all in black were sitting and ever ready to be tapped in.

A smaller system pairing Franco Serblin Accordo Goldberg standmount loudspeakers with AirTight amplification was modestly awaiting its turn.

Moving into the upstairs side room, three systems awaited.

The first of these included combined Avantgarde Duo SD with Phasemation MA-1500 monaural power amplification. I did enjoy the warm, smooth, natural and relaxed sound of this system.

In the same room on the opposite side were a pair of Avantgarde Uno SD loudspeakers paired with AirTight components, including the ATM-1S stereo power amplifier and ATC-3 stereo line-control amplifier.

A SME turntable, as well as Sutherland and Phasemation products were also part of the system setup.

To the side, sat the Avantgarde’s active Zero iTron with a Western Electric 91E integrated amplifier, hosting those giant 300b tubes.

We made our way over to Angie’s home for lunch and to indulge in three statement music systems that she has personally curated for her own enjoyment and of course, welcomed guests.
