On November 13th and 14th, 2023, Focal Naim America presented its new professional monitor, the Trio6, from the ST6 series. The introduction took place at Studios Piccolo located at 1977 Lepailleur Streetm in Montreal.
This new monitor model replaces Focal‘s Trio6 Be, which has already had a very successful career and a strong presence in several global recording studios. Thanks to its dual focus mode, the Trio6 ST6 monitor can be transformed into a one, two, or three-way loudspeaker to adapt its sound according to mixing needs or for close-range listening. It’s like having three monitors in a single cabinet unit. Additionally, its tweeter / midrange module is adjustable for vertical or horizontal loudspeaker orientation. In the horizontal position, an LMF 160 Hz filter is provided for reflections due to positioning on consoles.
The new Trio6 ST6 is a three-way active monitoring loudspeaker that includes three amplifiers operating in Class G. These separately power the three transducers with a 50 W module for the tweeter and a 100 W module each for the 13 cm midrange and 20 cm woofer. The inverted dome Beryllium tweeter has been retained, and its dispersion has been improved with its new horn and protective grille. Furthermore, this tweeter is equipped with a rear chamber that isolates it from vibrations from the midrange speaker.

This reference lousspeaker is entirely manufactured in France and now meets the current needs of recording studios. It can also meet the needs of audiophiles seeking precision and neutrality in musical reproduction. The Trio6 ST6 is currently available in Canada at a price of $4,500 per unit through various professional equipment stores.
