Angie Lisi<\/strong>, proud owner of American Sound<\/a> \/ Angie’s Audio Corner<\/strong> in Richmond Hill, Ontario (retail store) and Audiopathways <\/a>(distributor) held a two-day audio event on September 19th<\/sup> & 20th<\/sup>, 2025 to introduce industry members and clients to an all-new American Sound<\/strong> retail location, located in the quaint town of Stratford, Ontario. The event served to not only introduce the new Stratford location but also to showcase the fine brands that Audiopathways<\/strong> distributes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day\u00a01 (Sept.\u00a019th<\/sup>)<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Guests were chauffeured via limousine coach from Richmond Hill to the new Stratford retail location, located at 20 Ontario Street, Stratford, Ontario<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new Stratford, American Sound<\/strong> venue is owned and operated by David Riggs<\/strong> and is now open by appointment (519) 949-3096.<\/p>\n

David Riggs<\/strong> was there to welcome guests and introduce them to an appointed-systems, which include the finest of brands offered by Audiopathways<\/strong>, including: Avantgarde<\/strong> Acoustic<\/strong>, AirTight<\/strong>, Esoteric<\/strong>, VAC<\/strong>, Phasemation<\/strong> and others.<\/p>\n

The store aims to provide an inviting and enchanting aesthetic to best serve music delivered in the finest manner.<\/p>\n

Though I was unable to attend the extravaganza, I did get some photos of the showrooms, as follows:<\/p>\n

Showroom\u00a01\u00a0– front:<\/span>
\nAvantgarde<\/strong> Trio G3<\/em> horn loudspeakers can be seen, mated to Avantgarde<\/strong> Spacehorns<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Single Drive units (2) set atop of a Twin Drive units (2), set to fully deliver on the bass.<\/p>\n

The beautiful Avantgarde<\/strong> loudspeaker products are seen as driven by Air Tight<\/strong> STM-2211<\/em> Monaural Power Amplifiers from Japan, with preamplification from an AirTight<\/strong> ATC-7<\/em> as well as alternatively from Esoteric<\/strong> Grandioso<\/em> preamplifier and DAC<\/em>, with an Aurdender<\/strong> digital music server.<\/p>\n

The turntable providing analog source is the room is a Clearaudio<\/strong> Master Innovation<\/em> paired to a Phasemation<\/strong> EA-1200<\/em> phono amplifier (3-box).<\/p>\n

Showroom\u00a01\u00a0– back:
\n<\/strong><\/span>On the back wall of room\u00a01, as shown sitting on standby against the back-wall, is a pair of Avantgarde<\/strong> Duo SD<\/em> loudspeakers with AirTight<\/strong> ATC-5S<\/em> Preamplifier and ATM-300R<\/em> Stereo Power Amplifier, in addition to an Esoteric<\/strong> N-01XD SE<\/em> Network DAC<\/em> and K-03XD SE SACD<\/em> Player.<\/p>\n

Showroom\u00a02:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>A more compact showing of Avantgarde<\/strong> features the Uno SD<\/em> mated to a VAC<\/strong> Master <\/em>Line Stage.<\/p>\n

Seen on the bottom shelf is a Phasemation<\/strong> SA-1500<\/em> Integrated Amplifier and EA-350<\/em> Phono Amplifier.<\/p>\n

The turntable is from Perpetuum Ebner<\/strong> while the digital server is from Aurender<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Day\u00a02 (Sep.\u00a020th<\/sup>):<\/span>
\n<\/strong>I arrived at Angie\u2019s Audio Corner<\/strong>, 12261 Yonge Street, in the morning and had some time to have a look at several of the systems on display, before the balance of guests arrived.<\/p>\n

In the ground floor main room was a stunning display of Estelon<\/strong> Forza<\/em> loudspeakers, paired with a choice of Audio Research<\/strong> monoblock or Boulder<\/strong> stereo amplifiers.<\/p>\n

Tucked in the corner, on reserve were a pair of Avantgarde<\/strong> Acoustic<\/strong> Duo SD<\/em> horn loudspeakers.<\/p>\n

The system was wired with Transparent<\/strong> Audio<\/strong> cabling.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Though not a focus of the event, I couldn\u2019t help but notice the latest Audio<\/strong> Research<\/strong> products on display, including (clockwise from 1:00 o\u2019clock): LS-2<\/em> Preamplifier, D-80<\/em> Power Amplifier, S-200<\/em> Power Amplifier, S-100<\/em> Power Amplifier and finally the LS-3<\/em> Preamplifier, in 10:00 o\u2019clock position.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Making my way upstairs, I found a system featuring the Accordo<\/strong> Essence<\/em> loudspeakers, from Franco Serblin<\/strong>. These speakers are truly works of art, with absolutely gorgeous wood finish and elegant drills.<\/p>\n

The system included components by T+A<\/strong>, VAC<\/strong>, and Boulder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Just sitting behind, to the inside of the Accordo<\/strong> Essence<\/em>, are the Rethm<\/strong>, Maarga<\/em> loudspeakers that use high sensitivity wide-band drivers and Hypex<\/strong> amplifier modules.<\/p>\n

Right to the back, a pair of T+A<\/strong> bookshelf speakers, dressed all in black were sitting and ever ready to be tapped in.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A smaller system pairing Franco Serblin<\/strong> Accordo Goldberg<\/em> standmount loudspeakers with AirTight<\/strong> amplification was modestly awaiting its turn.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Moving into the upstairs side room, three systems awaited.<\/p>\n

The first of these included combined Avantgarde<\/strong> Duo SD<\/em> with Phasemation<\/strong> MA-1500<\/em> monaural power amplification. I did enjoy the warm, smooth, natural and relaxed sound of this system.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In the same room on the opposite side were a pair of Avantgarde<\/strong> Uno SD<\/em> loudspeakers paired with AirTight<\/strong> components, including the ATM-1S<\/em> stereo power amplifier and ATC-3<\/em> stereo line-control amplifier.<\/p>\n

A SME<\/strong> turntable, as well as Sutherland<\/strong> and Phasemation<\/strong> products were also part of the system setup.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To the side, sat the Avantgarde<\/strong>\u2019s active Zero iTron<\/em> with a Western Electric<\/strong> 91E<\/em> integrated amplifier, hosting those giant 300b<\/em> tubes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We made our way over to Angie\u2019s home<\/strong> for lunch and to indulge in three statement music systems that she has personally curated for her own enjoyment and of course, welcomed guests.<\/p>\n

System\u00a0A:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The Rockport<\/strong> Lyra<\/em> stood up front, finished in a gorgeous gloss finish and powered by a Boulder<\/strong> 2160<\/em> stereo power amp.<\/p>\n

Cabling was Transparet<\/strong> XL<\/em>, while a Wadax<\/strong> Reference<\/em> Server, VAC<\/strong> Statement<\/em> Line Preamplifier and SME<\/strong> Model\u00a060<\/em> with Series<\/em> VA<\/strong> arm was connected.<\/p>\n

This system is wonderfully refined and finessed but speaks with low end confidence.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A REL<\/strong> Reference<\/em> Series subwoofers sat in the corners, ensuring ease, scale and dynamics were fully delivered.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

System B:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>This system combined Avantgarde<\/strong> Mezzo<\/em> horns together with an Esoteric<\/strong> preamplifier, Wadax<\/strong> digital source and DAC<\/em> and AirTight<\/strong> monaural amplifiers.<\/p>\n

The sound was natural, warm and inviting.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

System\u00a0C:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>In the large back room was the pi\u00e8ce de resistance<\/em> of the visit. Audio taken to an extreme high-end level, combining the Avantgarde<\/strong> Trio G3<\/em> with six\u2026 yeah six Avantgarde<\/strong> Spacehorns<\/em>; two Single<\/em> Drive units and four Twin<\/em> Drive units.<\/p>\n

Feeding this system was an Esoteric<\/strong> Grandioso K1XSE CDP<\/em>\u00a0\/ Pa1<\/em> power, G1x<\/em> master clock, D1xSe<\/em> mono DAC<\/em>, and M03T<\/em> network transport (ROON<\/em><\/strong> ready).<\/p>\n

An Esoteric<\/strong> T1<\/em> turntable and power supply, with Ikeda<\/strong> Arm<\/em> and Phasemation<\/strong> PP-5000<\/em> cartridge was the analog source, playing through an E02<\/em> phonostage.<\/p>\n

A VAC<\/strong> Statement<\/em> Line Preamplifier with outboard Power Supply handled volume attenuation and on the side was a Wadax<\/strong> Studio<\/em> Player.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This system sounded effortless, organic, with beautiful dynamic proficiency both in macro and micro terms.<\/p>\n

There was a lovely fluid nature to the music and a larger-than-life presentation that was truly captivating.<\/p>\n

As amazing as the systems and music were, the food and drink was also fabulous and included a Middle Eastern dinner and desserts. I also got to taste some delicious Japanese saki.<\/p>\n

All of this made for a most memorable event.<\/p>\n

An invite to Angie<\/strong>\u2019s always turns out to be a delightful pleasure. Friendly faces, glorious music and food\u2026what more could anyone ask.<\/p>\n
