The show will seamlessly combine the worlds of shinobue<\/em> (bamboo flute), taiko<\/em>, and the three-stringed shamisen<\/em> while exploring new possibilities for these traditional instruments.<\/p>\n

Based in Toronto, Nagata Shachu<\/strong> has captivated audiences internationally with their fascinating and thrilling performances of Japanese drumming (taiko<\/em>) since their formation in 1998. While rooted in the traditions of Japan’s folk drums, the ensemble’s primary goal is to rejuvenate this ancient art form by producing innovative and exciting music that seeks to create a new voice for taiko<\/em>.<\/p>\n
