Tickets are available at:<span style=\"color: #993300;\"> <a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"https:\/\/latribu-lenational.tuxedobillet.com\/LeNational\/nagata-shachu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/latribu-lenational.tuxedobillet.com\/LeNational\/nagata-shachu.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The show will seamlessly combine the worlds of <em>shinobue<\/em> (bamboo flute), <em>taiko<\/em>, and the three-stringed <em>shamisen<\/em> while exploring new possibilities for these traditional instruments.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Toronto, <strong>Nagata Shachu<\/strong> has captivated audiences internationally with their fascinating and thrilling performances of Japanese drumming (<em>taiko<\/em>) since their formation in 1998. While rooted in the traditions of Japan&rsquo;s folk drums, the ensemble&rsquo;s primary goal is to rejuvenate this ancient art form by producing innovative and exciting music that seeks to create a new voice for <em>taiko<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TSQCFKJjfoc?si=m8dy2pv6znbmSStM\" width=\"890\" height=\"630\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Equipped with an arsenal of <em>taiko<\/em> drums (including the massive <em>O-Daiko<\/em> drum), bamboo flutes, three-stringed <em>shamisen<\/em>, and a variety of gongs, cymbals, shakers, and wooden blocks, <strong>Nagata Shachu<\/strong> will take you on a musical journey beyond all borders.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Kyoto, flutist <strong>Toki Tatara<\/strong> has dedicated her musical life to the exploration of bamboo flutes. She actively composes and performs several of her own compositions, having cultivated both traditional Japanese techniques and Western classical ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nagata Shachu<\/strong> is unique in being the only group outside of Japan to receive sponsorship from four major Japanese drum manufacturers, a testament to their mastery of this art.
