While there, we heard the <strong>Audio Physic<\/strong> <em>MIDEX<\/em> ($18k\u00a0\/\u00a0pr) driven by a full <strong>Gold Note<\/strong> stack.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41305\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2-825x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2-825x550.jpg 825w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2-647x431.jpg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2-272x182.jpg 272w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Altitudo-2.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Gold Note<\/strong> stack included the <em>P-1000 MkII<\/em> preamplifier ($12k) into the <em>Tube-1012<\/em> buffer ($9k) paired with the <em>PA-1175 Mk2<\/em> power amplifier ($11,500) and <em>PSU-1250<\/em> ($9,500). Sources were by <strong>Aesthetix<\/strong>, with digital using <strong>Aesthetix<\/strong> <em>Romulus Eclipse CDP<\/em> ($20k) and analog using <strong>Aesthetix<\/strong> <em>Janus Signature<\/em> phonostage ($18k) mated to a <strong>Gold Note<\/strong> <em>Mediterraneo<\/em> turntable ($9K) and <em>Machivelli<\/em> cartridge (extra).<\/p>\n<p>Listening to classical the sound was impeccably liquid and coherent. On the track <em>Hope<\/em> by <strong>NF<\/strong>, there was deep, extended, and controlled bass with a shockingly large and deep soundstage amidst a warm and smooth presentation that possessed ear pleasing detail. With <strong>Big Wolf Band<\/strong>\u2019s <em>If I Ever Loved Another Woman<\/em>, the top end was tame with sonorous bass. The guitar strings sweet while the bass guitar was rich and taught. A system that was very enjoyable and soothing to listen to.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800000;\">\u2014 \u2022\u2022\u2022 \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">AudioNote (U.-K.) :<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1-814x550.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"602\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1-814x550.jpeg 814w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1-647x437.jpeg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1-768x519.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-1.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There was a modest but still well sized room dedicated to a full <strong>AudioNote UK<\/strong> system. Over the years, I have truly come to appreciate the simplicity and classic beauty of <strong>AudioNote<\/strong> systems and this year was no different. The system itself was simple in terms of the number of components.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2-825x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2-825x550.jpg 825w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2-647x431.jpg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2-272x182.jpg 272w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/AudioNote-UK-2.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the core of this <strong>AudioNote<\/strong> system was their <em>Meishu Phono Tonmeister\u00a0300B<\/em> tube integrated amplifier ($24k) which though having what might sound like minimal power\u00a0\u2013 8\u00a0Watts per channel\u00a0\u2013 was producing a soundstage with delicacy, dynamics and detail that was finessed, sweet and liquid. The loudspeakers employed were <strong>AudioNote<\/strong>\u2019s high-sensitivity <em>AN-E SPE HE<\/em> standmount loudspeakers, finished in a high-gloss makassa ebony ($18,500), with their well known blue mid-bass drivers adding just the right level of interest. For the digital source, <strong>AudioNote<\/strong> was using their own <em>CD4.1x CD<\/em> player; while the analog source was the <strong>AudioNote<\/strong> <em>TT-Three<\/em> with <em>PSU\u00a03<\/em> &amp; <em>Arm\u00a01<\/em> with <em>IQ2 <\/em>cartridge ($25k). Listing to <strong>Eric Dolphy<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Miss Toni<\/em> on vinyl, I heard wonderful tone, tempo, and timbre. The cymbal possessing an uncannily real sense of sparkle and shine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; color: #800000;\">\u2014 \u2022\u2022\u2022 \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px; color: #800000;\"><strong>Audio by Mark Jones\u00a0\u2013 Clarisys, CH Precision et LINN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41308\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1-733x550.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"668\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1-733x550.jpeg 733w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1-647x485.jpeg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-1.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Jones<\/strong> was found once again at the <strong>Toronto Audio Fest<\/strong>. When we arrived at his room, it was just bustling with visitors. The buzz seemed to be around a relatively new addition to the <strong>Audio by Mark Jones<\/strong> product stable\u00a0\u2013 a full ribbon loudspeaker from a company called <strong>Clarisys Audio<\/strong>. <strong>Clarisys Audio<\/strong> products are designed by a global team and manufactured in Vietnam. I was told that it is a Swiss and Vietnamese collaboration. The <strong>Clarisys<\/strong> <em>Studio Plus<\/em> full ribbon panel loudspeaker ($66k\u00a0USD) was that being demonstrated, it uses neodymium magnets in its double-sided 5-foot-high panel.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2-825x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2-825x550.jpg 825w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2-647x431.jpg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2-272x182.jpg 272w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Audio-by-MJ-2.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The electronics paired to the <strong>Clarisys<\/strong> <em>Studio<\/em> panels included a <strong>CH Precision<\/strong> <em>L10<\/em> pre-amp ($76k\u00a0USD) with a <strong>CH<\/strong> <em>M10<\/em> stereo power amp ($104k\u00a0USD) and a <strong>CH<\/strong> <em>P10<\/em> Phono stage ($76k\u00a0USD) that was connected to a <strong>LINN<\/strong> <em>LP12 Klimax<\/em> with <em>Kandid<\/em> ($36k). The loom was by <strong>AudioQuest<\/strong> including power conditioning.<\/p>\n<p>Listening to <strong>Nina Simone<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Little Girl Blue<\/em> on vinyl demonstrated the ability of the <strong>Clarisys<\/strong> <em>Studio Plus<\/em> panel loudspeakers to reach deep, the piano sounded open and natural, and <strong>Nina<\/strong>\u2019s voice was inflected, delicate and finessed. This presentation by the <strong>Clarisys<\/strong> <em>Studio<\/em> was simply beautiful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; font-size: 20px;\">\u2014 \u2022\u2022\u2022 \u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 20px; color: #800000;\"><strong>Vinyl Sound \u2013 Wharfedale, Mofi, BAT, Hifirose,<br \/>\nDr. Feickert, OMA \u2013 Fleetwood Sound Co., Thorens<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41310 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1-890x550.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1-890x550.jpeg 890w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1-647x400.jpeg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1-768x474.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-1.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vinyl Sound<\/strong> was hosting a couple rooms at the show. The first room combined <strong>Wharfedale<\/strong> <em>Dovedale<\/em> loudspeakers ($9,999\u00a0\/\u00a0pr) driven by a <strong>Balanced Audio Technology<\/strong> (<strong>BAT<\/strong>) <em>VK-3500 Hybrid<\/em> amplifier ($15,995) with <em>VK-90 Tube<\/em> preamplifier ($19,995). The digital source was a <strong>HiFiRose<\/strong> <em>RS130<\/em> Network Transport ($7495).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-41311 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2-890x506.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2-890x506.jpg 890w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2-647x368.jpg 647w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2-768x437.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tedpublications.com\/fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Vinyl-Sound-2.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The analog was a <strong>Dr.\u00a0Feickert <\/strong><em>Woodpecker \u2013 Deluxe Pack<\/em> with intertia platter and 10-inch arm with <strong>Cardas<\/strong> cables ($12,490) with <em>Koetsu Black<\/em> <em>MC<\/em> <strong>Goldline<\/strong> cart ($4,495). An <strong>Isotek<\/strong> <em>V5 Aquarius<\/em> System Link Power Conditioner ($3,999) and <strong>Cardas<\/strong> <em>Clear Cygnus<\/em> Speaker Cables ($2,490) were also being used. I loved its heritage look.
