Tri-Cell Enterprises Inc.<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (Tri-Cell<\/strong>) is one of Canada\u2019s leading distributors of the finest international audio brands. Over more than 35\u00a0years, Vince Scalzitti<\/strong>, the company\u2019s owner, has curated a selection of brands based on their musical performance, quality, and superior value. Presently, the company distributes more than 50\u00a0internationally manufactured audio brands to an expansive list of audio dealers across Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Given the number of brands and products that Tri-Cell<\/strong> supplies to its dealers with their varying price level, Tri-Cell<\/strong> has just recently opened the doors of their all-new Tri-Cell<\/strong> Dealer Showroom<\/em>. The prime objective being to support their dealers with a suitable venue to demonstrate a broader selection of products. I had the privilege of receiving an invitation to visit this new showroom, in October. The Showroom<\/em> is in Woodbridge, Ontario, just west of Highway 400 between Highway 7 and the 407. Vince<\/strong> himself provided me with a guided tour, that included many familiar brands but also several brands that were all-together new to me. One thing is for sure, as Vince and his team have scoured the international audio waters looking for the best products, what they have pulled together are what Tri-Cell<\/strong> considers to be\u00a0– the very best in both value and performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

With that, let me take you on this photo tour of the Tri-Cell<\/strong> Dealer Showroom<\/em>:<\/span><\/p>\n

The big room \/ System A: Front-End:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Here we have the Audiovector<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>R\u00a08 Arret\u00e9<\/em> in a gorgeous Italian Walnut Burl Piano finish well mated to a Soulution<\/strong>\u00a0311<\/em> stereo amplifier with a very robust 120\u00a0wpc @\u00a08\u03a9 on tap, all while under the finessed control of an Aesthetix<\/strong> Calypso Eclipse<\/em> linestage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The new Antipodes Audio<\/strong><\/a><\/span> Oladra<\/em> digital music server\u00a0\u2013 player\u00a0\u2013 reclocker, paired to a Berkeley Audio Design<\/strong><\/a><\/span> Alpha<\/em> DAC Reference Series\u00a03<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reed<\/strong> MUSE\u00a01C <\/em>turntable in Karelian birch with Reed<\/strong> 3P<\/em> 10.5\u201d\u00a0tonearm, and BENZ Micro<\/strong> Swiss Ebony<\/em> cartridge playing through an Aesthetix<\/strong> Rhea Eclipse<\/em> all-tube phono stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Loom and Stands:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Full suite of Synergistic Research<\/strong> loom, including Galileo Discovery<\/em> speaker and power cables, along with Atmosphere\u00a0SX<\/em> power cables. Power conditioning is handled through a PowerCell\u00a0SX<\/em>, accompanied by a Galileo\u00a0SX<\/em> Ground Block and to dress it up the cables sit atop Carbon Performance<\/em> Elevators. The components sit on Synergistic Research<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Tranquility Base Carbon<\/em> and Carbon\u00a0XL<\/em> to address both mechanical and airborne vibrations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Room Treatment:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>On the front wall is an RD\u00a0Acoustics<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, from Czech Republic, Hybrid Acoustic Diffuser<\/em> that provides additional clarity and instrument separation as well as serving a most decorative statement piece of wall art that is most complementary to any listening environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the side walls, acoustic panels from RW\u00a0Acoustics<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, a Slovenian acoustic treatment manufacturer. These sound absorption panels are not only purposeful in treating rooms but also as decorative and artistic pieces as they can be ordered with a variety of standard and custom images.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enclaves & Nooks:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Just outside the doors of the large listening room of the Showroom<\/em>, the space opens to a series of enclaves and a couple nooks that serve as a welcome to those who enter the front doors. I\u2019ll now show you what these spaces have to offer:<\/span><\/p>\n

System B: Front-End<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nThe Odeon Audio<\/strong> Helix<\/em> loudspeakers in a succulent Walnut root veneer, from Germany, sit on the first wall driven by a Western Electric<\/strong><\/span><\/a> 91E<\/em>\u00a0Integrated Amplifier, a single-ended 300B<\/em> vacuum tube design<\/span>.

\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Analog Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>An Acoustic Solid<\/strong>, Solid Classic Wood<\/em> turntable with (Sorane<\/strong>\u00a0SA-1.2<\/em>) and a Dynavector<\/strong> DV10X5MKII <\/em>High Output cartridge, playing through a LAB\u00a012<\/strong> Melto1 <\/em>tube MC\/MM phono amplifier. LAB\u00a012<\/strong> is a brand that comes from Greece and offers a full selection of tube-based amplification choices, as well as Cardas Audio<\/strong> cables.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>This system also showcases products from the Romanian company, Audiobyte<\/strong>, including their Hydra Vox<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 DAC and Headphone Amp; Hydra Hub<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 reclocker, upsampler, converter, USB<\/em> interface, digital preamplifier and network streamer and; Hydra Zap<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 dedicated low noise microprocessor-controlled power supply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Loom and Stands:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The setup of this system includes a ROGOZ<\/strong> audio component stand and Cardas<\/strong> cables.<\/span><\/p>\n

Treatments:<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span>The diffraction panels set behind and above this system are from the Polish room treatment company: \u2018acoustic manufacture<\/strong>\u2019. The company offering a plethora of products in 30\u00a0standard colours but also custom finished to a colour of choice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mid-Floor (Cube Audio):<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Sitting on static display are three models (Nenuphar\u00a0v2<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 10\u201d; Jazzon<\/em>\u00a0– 10\u201d and Nenuphar Mini<\/em>\u00a0v2\u00a0– 8\u201d). of Cube Audio<\/strong><\/a><\/span> single high-sensitivity loudspeakers, from Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n

System C – Front-End:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Across on another wall is a system that features the Audio Physic<\/strong> Cardeas<\/em> loudspeakers, from Germany, powered by the American-based, ModWright Instruments<\/strong> KWH-225i<\/em> Hybrid Integrated amplifier that internally pairs a tube preamplifier with a solid-state power amplifier.

\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Analog Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>An Acoustic Solid<\/strong>\u00a0113<\/em> Bubinga turntable with (Sorane<\/strong> TA-1<\/em>) and a Gold Note<\/strong> Vasari<\/em> MM cartridge running through a ModWright Instruments<\/strong> PH\u00a09.0X<\/em> Phono Stage with its outboard power supply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The digital source here is a lovely looking DAC\/pre-amp\/headphone amp\/streamer and even phono amp, which is called the D10<\/em> from a company named COS Engineering<\/strong>. The form is very austere and reminiscent of a German or perhaps Scandinavian origin; however, if you might guess either of those you would be wrong. Rather, COS Engineering<\/strong> originates from Taiwan, which makes the brand even more interesting and worth exploring.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, here is the full line-up of product offerings from Swiss manufacturer, MERASON<\/strong>. Seen are the Merason<\/strong> DAC1<\/em>, along with the Merason<\/strong> frerot<\/em> DAC<\/em> and its matching upgraded separate Merason<\/strong> pow1<\/em> power supply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Loom and Stands:<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span>Cables in the system are from Cardas Audio<\/strong> and the stand as displayed is from ROGOZ Audio<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>Also sitting on stand-by<\/em> eager for delivering listening pleasure are a number of other Audio Physic<\/strong> loudspeaker models:<\/span><\/p>\n

As well, you might note the bottom edge of those lovely pictures on the wall\u00a0\u2013 those are not ordinary artistic prints but rather, acoustic panels from Slovakia, by RW Acoustics<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

System D: Front-end<\/span>
\nJoseph Audio<\/strong> Pearl 20\/20 Graphene<\/em> loudspeakers sit in one of the enclaves driven by a set of Danish Alluxity<\/strong> Mono One<\/em> amplifiers that deliver 500\u00a0wpc @\u00a04\u03a9, and controlled by a ModWright Instruments<\/strong><\/span><\/a> tube-hybrid LS100<\/em> preamplifier.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>The digital source is comprised of a Playback Designs<\/strong> MPS-8<\/em> SACD\/CD Player\/fully-differential discrete DAC, as well as an Antipodes Audio<\/strong>\u00a0K22<\/em> server-player-reclocker paired to a Berkeley Audio Design<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Alpha DAC\u00a03<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Sitting in another enclave within the main area of the Showroom<\/em> is the Harbeth<\/strong> loudspeaker line-up paired to a LAB\u00a012<\/strong> amplification, including: the Pre1<\/em> full tube preamplifier (top right) with a Suara<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Class\u00a0A<\/em> parallel tube power amplifier (mid-right).<\/span><\/p>\n

Analog Source:<\/span>
\n<\/strong>The turntable is a Gold Note<\/strong> Giglio<\/em>, with matching tonearm and a Gold Note<\/strong> Donatello MC Gold<\/em> cartridge. This turntable was mated with a LAB\u00a012<\/strong> Melto2<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 fully adjustable phono preamplifier (mid-left).<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Left and right, flanking the system sits the Gold Note<\/strong>\u00a0A6 EVO\u00a0II<\/em> loudspeakers, that are driven by P-1000 MKII<\/em> Deluxe<\/em> preamplifier and PA-1175 MKII<\/em> power amplifier combination (bottom shelf).<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>I will close off by saying that I expect that this Tri-Cell<\/strong><\/a><\/span> Dealer Showroom<\/em> will surely be a great support to dealers, allowing them to see themselves and introduce their clients to models and brands that they presently may not be able to house. Tri-Cell<\/strong> has assembled an amazing collection of audio treasures within their new Dealer Showroom<\/em> that allows full demonstration and exploration of many of their brands and products offerings.
