RICHARDSON, Texas \u2013 September 16, 2010<\/strong> \u2013 AMX\u00ae<\/sup>, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, announced today the NetLinx\u00ae<\/sup> Power Distribution Unit<\/strong><\/a> (NXA-PDU-1508-8) has been honored as a 2010 EXCITE Award winner by CustomRetailer magazine. The unique Power Distribution Unit (PDU) combines power distribution and power management into one device to deliver greater energy savings and ease of installation. AMX will be demonstrating the new NetLinx PDU in booth #912 at CEDIA 2010, being held September 23-26 in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

The innovative Power Distribution Unit (PDU), which AMX announced in June, adds a new level of control at the rack by allowing remote reset of devices via a power cycle, reducing the need to send staff to a customer site. By managing power delivery, the PDU monitors energy consumption of each connected component and restricts power to any or all devices when not in use. With 8 individually monitored and controlled AC outlets, built-in 12-Volt power supply, 2 sets of 4 AxLink Bus Strips, power monitoring for each outlet, plus a temperature sensor, the PDU is flexible and can reduce wasteful standby power usage. Native NetLinx control over AxLink integrates the PDU with AMX Control systems and Resource Management Suite (RMS).<\/p>\n

According to CustomRetailer, the editorial team reviews new innovations within the industry and selects the winners of EXCITE Awards based on a set of criteria such as, if the innovation makes an installer\u2019s life better or easier, and if it delivers a marked benefit to the end-user.<\/p>\n
