Venlo/Frankfurt, March 17, 2011 – A series of Lenco’s trendy iPod docking systems is an important part of the exhibition ‘The i-cosmos, Might, myth and magic of a brand’, which has now been opened and will run until May 8, 2011 in the ‘Museum für Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt’ (Germany). The exhibition is devoted to the design of so-called iDevices, this in response to the growing interest in products such as the iPod and iPhone.

The exhibition, the first of its kind in the world, wants to demonstrate that a new product category in consumer electronics has been born, mainly because more and more consumers want to listen to their music at home without headphones and use docking systems to achieve this.

Lenco has put the ‘Speakerball for iPod’, which has won multiple awards for its design, at the disposal of the museum. In the future this iPod docking station will also be part of the permanent exposition of the museum. Furthermore, the iPod Tower, Xemio-260 (portable MP3 player), TFT-2277 (LCD television with built-in iPod docking), iPD-4300 (iPod docking) and TFT-1020 (digital photo frame) are part of the exhibition.

According to Prof. Dr. Volker Fischer, curator of the exposition, the new development doesn’t just mean that the industry responds to this new development with matching products, but also that completely new possible applications are being created. “You can see a shift in the paradigm: these new products are characterized by being both leading, as well as creating a certain cult”.

Nico Brabers, CEO of Lenco, sees the inclusion of Lenco products in the exhibition as a further recognition of the brand strategy. In addition to offering good value for money, Lenco pays full attention to product design. “More and more consumers discover us as a manufacturer of designer products. Combined with our leading position in the i-docking systems market, we see our presence at this exhibition as valuable recognition”, says Brabers.
