“She is absolutely incredible”
– Vicky Hawkesworth, BBC Radio 1
Montreal, September 2024 – Undoubtedly one of the most captivating vocal talents of 2024, British singer-songwriter Lusaint will release her new EP Self Sabotage on September 13th.
Produced by Blue May (Joy Crookes, Kano, George Fitzgerald), Self Sabotage features the new track Dark Horse, which Lusaint describes as addressing a past relationship that collapsed unexpectedly. The song was written with the legendary Eg White (Adele, P!nk, Florence and the Machine).
The EP also includes the jazzy track Fool For You, which has been streamed over a million times on various platforms and 140,000 times on Shazam. Other tracks include the introspective Dream Life, Sweet Tooth, which compares love to a sugar addiction, and Sober, a song that explores the complex nature of leaving a toxic relationship.
Self Sabotage was written during a time in my life when I felt a bit vulnerable and the path to my next steps wasn’t clear, Lusaint explains. I wanted to explore every detail that was creating these issues and resolve them through the lyrics and melody. After creating a few vocal notes on my phone and singing melodies that were slightly out of my comfort zone but felt so natural, Self Sabotage was born and the pieces quickly began to fall into place.
Lusaint is an emerging artist on the British music scene, captivating audiences with her interpretations of pop and soul songs and her enchanting voice. Hailing from Stretford in Manchester, Lusaint discovered her exceptional vocal talent early on, inspired by legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone. She quickly made a name for herself with her ability to infuse each track with raw, palpable emotion.
With over 50,000,000 streams across various platforms, Lusaint’s music has captured hearts since her breakthrough in 2019. She has won fans with her soul melodies and a voice tinged with 1960s jazz. Since then, her acoustic covers of Beyoncé’s Crazy In Love and Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game have been acclaimed, with the latter surpassing 22,000,000 views on YouTube.
Her musical style is a unique blend of classic soul and modern touches. Her voice, both smooth and powerful, takes her fans on an emotional journey with every note. The lyrics of her songs, whether original or covers, are delivered with a disarming sincerity that resonates deeply with her audience.
