BUENA PARK, Calif.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u2013\u00a0Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division<\/strong>, introduced the BD-S673<\/em> and BD-S473<\/em> Blu-ray players, which offer superior audio and video performance, robust network features and easy installation. Both models are compatible with the company\u2019s market-leading iOS<\/em>, Android<\/em> and Kindle Fire AV<\/em> control apps and stream video from the popular Netflix<\/strong>, YouTube<\/strong> and Hulu<\/strong> (BD-S673<\/em> only) services. Designed to complement the company\u2019s recently introduced RX-V \u201c73 Series\u201d<\/em> AV receivers in styling and operation, both models feature one-touch power on and playback via Yamaha<\/strong> AV receivers\u2019 SCENE<\/em> buttons.<\/p>\n

The BD-S673<\/em> model adds Blu-ray 3D\u2122<\/em> compatibility and built-in Wi-Fi<\/em> for easy connectivity to the Internet.<\/p>\n

The Yamaha<\/strong> BD-S673<\/em> and BD-S473<\/em> deliver exceptional video and audio quality with 1080p\/24kHz-compatible HDMI<\/em> video output, full HD Audio<\/em> decoding and playback of all current HD<\/em> formats and FLAC<\/em> files. Fun and informative content from the Internet can be accessed via BD-Live<\/em> and BonusView<\/em> features. Additional content from portable devices and drives can be played back through the model\u2019s front and back USB<\/em> ports.<\/p>\n

The BD-S673<\/em> and BD-S473<\/em> have wide multimedia compatibility for disc and USB<\/em> formats including AVCHD<\/em>, WMV<\/em>, MOV<\/em>, MP4<\/em>, MPG<\/em> (Video), JPEG<\/em> (HD), MP3<\/em>, WMA<\/em>, WAV<\/em> and AAC<\/em> (Audio). The BD-S673<\/em> adds DivX Plus HD<\/em> compatibility as well. Both models can also playback JPEG<\/em> slideshows with MP3<\/em> audio soundtracks for family and friends.<\/p>\n

Other key audio and video features include direct bitstream<\/em> and multi-channel Linear PCM<\/em> output via HDMI<\/em>, x.v.Color<\/em> and Deep Color<\/em> compatibility, as well as 1080p<\/em> playback for DVD<\/em>s, photos and home movies. The BD-S673<\/em> also offers analog 2-channnel down-mixed audio output and a 192kHz\/24-bit audio DAC.<\/p>\n

The Yamaha<\/strong> SCENE<\/em> mode with HDMI CEC<\/em>, which is available on most of the company\u2019s AV receivers, enables users to power on the BD-S673<\/em> and BD-S473<\/em> models to playback content by pressing a single button on the receiver. Additional advanced operation and convenience features include DLNA<\/em> client certification and on-screen display. An intuitive setup wizard instantly readies both models for operation and Internet connectivity makes it possible to quickly download future firmware updates.<\/p>\n

The Yamaha<\/strong> BD-S473<\/em> will be available in August for an MSRP of $229.95 and the Wi-Fi<\/em> enabled BD-S673<\/em> will be available in September for an MSRP of $329.95.<\/p>\n
