\nTen years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer. Directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven, Scream 4 is the newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

My Take:<\/strong>
\nDo I like scary movies?\u00a0 YES I do. I love them. \u00a0Especially the Scream franchise.\u00a0 I find this franchise to be smart, tongue-in-cheek and poke fun of themselves.\u00a0 However, unlike most people who find this movie to be the best of them all, I find it to be the worst and left my home theatre with the feeling of… \u201cHuh?\u201d.\u00a0 Storyline aside, it looks awesome. I couldn’t find any faults other then a few scenes where it showed overblown whites which looked like a post production flub and certainly not an encoding issue. Black levels amazing and really show command as they never crushed in the films many dark scenes with ample of shadow details. Even in faces, fabrics or anything else on screen, this blu-ray is an amazing example how a movie should be transferred. Colours looked natural almost without secondary colour boost that tend to plague today\u2019s movies.<\/p>\n

The surround sound-stage has the ability to amaze you with a creak from behind, the hi-end slashing sound of a knife slicing through the air and ear piercingly loud screams that never distort. Low frequencies digs deep and tight which is truly a test of your subwoofer and room acoustics.<\/p>\n
