Excited to get your hands on a new Windows 8 tablet later this year? Then you\u2019ll be pleased to hear that Samsung will be one of the first manufacturers to build a slate for Microsoft\u2019s new <\/span>operating system<\/span>, according to reports. The tablet is set to be unveiled by Microsoft at the company\u2019s BUILD conference, which kicks off on September 13.<\/span><\/p>\n The tablet will be the first time Samsung has collaborated with Microsoft to build hardware, according to the report from The Korea Economic Daily<\/a><\/em>, and will be introduced by Windows chief Steven Senofsky during Microsoft\u2019s BUILD conference.<\/p>\n According to WinRumors, <\/em>which sites a source familiar with the company\u2019s plans,\u00a0lucky attendees to the September 13-16 event will also be given one the first Windows 8 tablets, which are said to be powered by an ARM processor and boast \u201chardware advances or sensors that Windows 8 will take advantage of.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear whether the free tablet will indeed be Samsung\u2019s device, however, the Korean electronics<\/span> <\/span>giant took a similar approach to marketing during Google\u2019s I\/O developer conference earlier this year, at which it gave out its flagship Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. Though there are hints that it will do the same at Microsoft\u2019s event:\u00a0The free tablet is said to be a quad-core device that was first introduced during Microsoft\u2019s presentation at Tech-Ed New Zealand last month, which is nearly identical in appearance to Samsung\u2019s new Windows 7 slate (above).<\/p>\n To those of you who are eagerly awaiting a Windows 8 tablet, having Samsung on-board is surely great news.
