The new Explorer series is based on a new technology called 6N Mono Crystal copper.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s the big buzz about this Mono Crystal Copper?<\/p>\n
First and foremost, like other Siltech products, this is real science rather, not just alchemy or hype. Developed by Professor Dr. Ohno of the Chiba Institute of Technology in Japan, this technology is very different compared to the traditional extrusion process because it uses a cooled mold to produce a pure crystallized single copper conductor reaching 6N on purity 99.99998%.<\/p>\n

A mono or single crystal solid is a material in which the entire crystal sample is continuous and unbroken up the very edges of the wire itself. The absence of defects associated with grain boundaries and impurities gives mono crystal unique properties such as better conductivity.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the process results in a much lower oxygen content which prevents the cable oxidation.<\/p>\n
After a full year of rigorous testing, Siltech felt confident they could use this new revolutionary technology and couple it to their unique insulation material and assembly techniques.<\/p>\n
