October 1, 2015\u00a0\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0Yamaha<\/strong> today introduced the RX-S601<\/em> slimline network AV receiver that offers robust audio and video performance. The receiver is just the latest product that supports Yamaha<\/strong>\u2019s MusicCast<\/em> wireless multiroom audio system.<\/p>\n

Standing at 4\u00a03\/8 inches, a mere two-thirds the height of the average AV receiver (between 6\u00a01\/2 and 7\u00a0\u00bd inches), the RX-S601<\/em> is the ideal entertainment hub for small apartments, dens and offices, or any other limited space environment.<\/p>\n

MusicCast<\/em> is the company\u2019s wireless multiroom audio platform that works with existing Wi-Fi<\/em> networks to stream all audio content from virtually any source throughout the home. This includes connected external components, such as TV set-top boxes, Blu-ray Disc\u2122<\/em> players and turntables. The RX-S601<\/em> is one of 20 Yamaha<\/strong> MusicCast<\/em> products across the AV receiver, wireless speaker, sound bar, Hi-Fi<\/em> component and powered monitor speaker categories that will be available by the end of 2015.

\nAmong the wealth of features the RX-S601<\/em> offers music and movie fans are high-resolution audio playback of DSD<\/em>, WAV<\/em>, FLAC<\/em> and AIFF<\/em> files (up to 192 kHz\/ 24-bit) and 4K Ultra HD<\/em> pass-through with HDCP 2.2<\/em> support. With built-in Wi-Fi<\/em> and Bluetooth<\/em>, the RX-S601<\/em> is compatible with Pandora\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> and Spotify<\/strong> music services, AirPlay\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>, Internet radio and can playback content stored on mobile devices and DLNA\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>-compatible components in the home.<\/p>\n

Now users can stream Bluetooth<\/em> audio from a mobile phone or tablet to the RX-S601<\/em> and also simultaneously stream from the AV receiver to other Bluetooth<\/em> devices, such as speakers in other rooms, portable devices and Bluetooth<\/em> headphones. As a result, users can watch YouTube<\/strong> or Vevo<\/strong> content on their smartphones or tablets and listen to the audio over their home entertainment speakers, or catch every moment of the game even when leaving the TV room to get a snack in the kitchen or flip the burgers on their backyard grill. This wide Bluetooth<\/em> access also enables visitors to share their music easily without their hosts needing to give out passwords and compromise their Wi-Fi<\/em> network privacy.<\/p>\n

The RX-S601<\/em> features Burr-Brown<\/strong> 192 kHz \/ 24-bit digital-to-analog converters and Yamaha<\/strong> CINEMA DSP 3D<\/em> processing to deliver maximum audio performance for music, movies and TV viewing.
