Movie Thrillseekers Prepare for Ultimate Fright

D-BOX Technologies Adds Motion to Overture Films’ Pandorum in Theatres September 25

LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 21 /CNW Telbec/ – D-BOX Technologies Inc. (DBO.A on the TSX Venture Exchange) a leader in motion technology for the entertainment industry announced today its sixth motion picture release in six months to feature the company’s motion-enhanced technology, Overture Films’ Pandorum in theatres September 25.

The Quebec-based D-BOX Technologies first launched its ground-breaking motion system for movie theatres at Hollywood’s Mann Chinese 6 and has since expanded to six additional locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Offering an unmatched, immersive experience, Motion Designers at D-BOX code each film, frame by frame, utilizing the company’s proprietary D-BOX Motion Code(TM) technology offering real-time motion effects that move in perfect sync with the onscreen action

“D-BOX has experienced significant growth over the past several months and will continue to expand, announcing new movie titles and theatre locations,” said President and CEO, Claude Mc Master. “With tens of thousands of moviegoers who have already experienced D-BOX’s motion technology in theatres at a premium, we are extremely pleased with the overwhelming response and look forward to continuing to enhance the movie viewing experience.”

Opening nationwide on September 25th, Pandorum stars Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster and Cam Gigandet. From the producers of the Resident Evil film franchise, Pandorum is a terrifying thriller in which two crew members wake up on an abandoned spacecraft with no idea who they are, how long they’ve been asleep, or what their mission is. The two soon discover they’re actually not alone — and the reality of their situation is more horrifying than they could have imagined. D-BOX Motion Code(TM) adds to the movie’s plot and underlying themes of fear, terror and explosive action by offering realistic sensations during most of the film’s action scenes.

Each motion system comes equipped with individual intensity settings that can be adjusted to heighten or decrease the action-packed experience. While moviegoers feel motion during many of the action sequences, the seats will remain still during the more dialogue-driven scenes.

D-BOX motion systems are presently available at seven theatres throughout the U.S. and Canada to include Cineplex Odeon Queensway Theatre in Etobicoke, Canada; Mann Chinese 6 Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.; Theatres at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.; Galaxy at the Cannery in Las Vegas, Nev.; Galaxy Highland Theatre in Austin, Texas; UltraStar Cinemas in Surprise, Ariz.; and UltraStar Apple Valley in San Bernardino, Calif.
